Are these low light plants? I have a 55 that I am going to be upping my lighting in but for now it has low lights. Will these do okay in it or should I wait to get my better lights first? Right now I just have the standard 2 24 inch lights with the standard bulbs in them.

well i cant say with confidence off the top of my head but my lights arent all that bright, i have 4 23 watt compact fluorescents that "do the job." id look into it and try and learn from other peoples experiences. i know that they are both pretty easy so its definitely a possibility.

Sending PM :D

How many vals do you have? I have a 55 I need to fill with something that I want to put a breeding pair of angels in. Would they be good? Let me know how many you have and much to ship to 18088. Thanks, David

you use 4-23 watt cfl lights and get those plants looking like that? Can you tell me a little more about your setup? those are beautiful plants...how do you get them looking so nice? co2 injection?

whats that substrate?

laudy000 i have A LOT of vals, if its like last year i have close to 100. the aquarium im growing them in is also a 55 gallon. ive never bred angels but i think they would be a good choice for such a tank as they create a very in depth forest that will hide just about anything that doesn't want to be found. i have a couple of shrimp that live there pretty much exclusively and never got eaten by the fish i used to have who would have probably grabbed them, just my thoughts.

enthusiast thank you but i really deserve no credit as i do almost nothing :D i just leave the lights on 12 hours a day, no c02 and no substrate besides gravel and fish poo, no fertilizer either. i only trim the aquarium about once a year so its not nearly as impressive as other tanks ive seen that trim every 3 weeks, but im happy.
