Your talking fish successfully bred in aquariums??

According to an LFS, Paracanthurus hepatus, the regal tang has been tank bred with success. The fish being offered were about 1/2 inch, nose to peduncle. Certainly looked healthy and active.

I had always heard that the regal tang and other tangs are not actually 'tank bred' but are tank raised. They take the fish at post-larvae stage from the ocean and raise them from there.

I'm not sure. I can't offer any support, other than the fact that getting the larva to Colorado and not having the adult fish be really pricy is questionable. The ones I saw were priced about the same as a WC tang that size.
