Hey everybody. Just thought we'd share Dexter's first Halloween with you. It was a fun night of World Series baseball on TV, pumpkin carving, annointing, and bathing. Enjoy! :) (And yes I stole the pumpkin design from the AC banner. I liked it!)

The Pumpkins - the one on the right is supposed to be Dexter. My fiance carved it. :p I carved the one on the left.

Closeup of my pumpkin. It turned out pretty well for just using a kitchen knife! Mwahahaha...

We think he liked the "hedgehog" jack-o-lantern better. He wouldn't take his eyes off of it.

We gave him a little bit of pumpkin as a festive treat. Don't worry, it was canned pumpkin without additives or spices.

Putting pumpkin froth all over yourself calls for bathtime.

How hard are they to handle?

my uncle has one, they arent too bad, if they are just waking up, it can hurt if they get a good jab when they jump/puff.. after awhile tho, their quills lay flat and they are like petting a dog with tough hair.

ive never seen one open up like yours tho!!! awesome!

just like a puppy, if you socialize them when they're young they will be easy to handle. The only tricky time is right after they wake up. I've actually found that if you talk to them in a gentle voice it puts them at ease (at least that's the case with mine).

They need to be handled daily, though, to encourage development of a mild temper.
