this one is kinda tuff, I wish #5 would have waited the cloudiness out before taking the pic, it has real potential , just its cloudy ... amd #4, very pretty plants ! again, dirty filter.... and you need just somthing in the back area.. some nice tall plant .. hhmm.... I will have to go with my first thought , even thow some tanks are thrown out by me ,I am partial to planted' .Great job everyone, but alas, only one can win, and here, I am voting for the first pic, I really' wish they would remove eqiupment before picture, but here, seems to be the winner IMO ~ good luck to ALL ~~

I agree. 2 seperate totm. one salt water and one freshwater. I'm a freshwater girl but I think the salt water will win all the time. JMO

so much decorative talent here. it was a tough choice. i like the idea of alternating the totm from fw to sw every other month but it could only work if there were more entries.

THATs WHY we cant have them seperate !! NOT enough people playing ! I wish we could get more people involved, so IT could be a FW OR SW . Then I feel it would be more fair. I dont know ANYthing about SW .

CAN someone PLEASE explain to me, WHY #3 is so much better / differnt than #6 ?? I dont understand . what is the differance. I guess thats why I dont judge SW, I wouldent be able to be fair. I would think #6 has more' , and is bigger with all the same stuff, But WHY is #3 winning more votes ??

I would just like to understand , sorry for my VERY NOOBIES SW question. Maybye someone can help me get this a little better All I know at this point is to judge by looks' , and I cant see why one is better than the other, Sorry if I offend Anyone, that is NOT my intention, I truly honestly would like to know the diff. between the 2 tanks, and why the one would get more votes? whats better, cleaner, nicer uknow. I can answer all these questions for a planted tank, but I am lost here. lol ~~

hmm, that is weird about the SW tanks, both are very nice looking and obviously very well kept tanks. if i had to guess id say the neon blue-green color pattern along with the little dots of orange and red of #3 makes it eye catching.

either way #1 took my vote :D

Tried this before...due to lack of submissions, we had to merge them again...Wont happen again, at least not in the short term...

Addicted2fish,

I am only speaking for myself here, but I think that the appeal in #3 is the shape and texture of the different corals, as well as the arrangement. The eye rather naturally is guided from one side of the tank to the other, and the clown fish create a bright point of interest just off centre to the right, making it interesting photo.

#6 is no doubt a lovely well established tank with a variety of shapes and colours. There is no distinct point of interest in this photo. The wall like arrangement is likely beautiful and impressive when looking at the life in the tank, but as a single snapshot the eye is drawn to nothing in particular. As well, it is slightly out of focus. I think that this is perhaps one of the reasons why #3 is garnering more votes than #6, but again, it's only my opinion.

Hard to decide between reef and planted tanks. I am surprised the last one didn't get more votes. I thought it was really nice.
