Hi, I have had an established 55 gallon fresh water tank for 6 months. I have encountered problems along the way but managed to learn what I was doing wrong. Occasionally I have question and would like some help. I have 3 glofish, a 3" chinese algae eater, A 5" Common Pleco, a 1 1/2 Braziliansis and one newish addition The female Betta.:screwy: Last night after feeding, I noticed a dead glofish with a huge hole where his stomach used to be. I witnessed the Betta kill a tiny yellow glofish last week. When I got home it was too late and was over in a matter of minutes. The recently deceased glofish was the same size as the Betta. Could this have been an attack or an overeating issue. I feed them Betta flakes and dried shrimp crumbled. They like to attack the larger pieces of shrimp. Could it have eaten too large of a piece? Or does my Betta need to go to his own smaller home?

the betta might think the glofish are bettas and might try to kill them

Welcome to AC! You might want to pose your question in the freshwater forums where more folks will be able to see it and respond.

I just had to separate my female Betta as she killed a male Guppy and a Neon.

Thanks, I think the Betta and CAE are off to a new tank off their own.
