Well, to make a long story short I may be getting 2 turtles from a friend who can't care for them anymore. I will also be getting the tank they are in which I believe is 200 gallons. I have had fish basically all my life but turtles are new to me. So basically I am just looking for some help to get started right, as from what I have read so far the person I am getting them from apparantly doesn't care for them as well as he should.

My main questions are:

Do I still monitor water parameters and do water changes the same as with fish?

How do I feed them?

Yes, water parameters are still important. You need a LOT of filtration and water changes.
