Hi everyone,
I'd like to find out your practices and preferences when it comes to feeding your fish communities.
What sort of food do you use (pellet, flake, frozen/live, etc)?
Reason I ask, is that I have always only used live or frozen 'live' food and have backed away from the processed food due to it not seeming 'natural'.
Apart from costing a bit more to purchase and taking up quite a large part of my freezer, is there anything wrong with doing it this way? (one bonus I have found, is that I have never expereinced problems with a fish not feeding once intoduced to the tank)

thanks :goldfish:

pellets and flakes till they won't eat anymore once a day. as long as its fortified i don't see a problem with frozen. and yes, fish will gobble up frozen more readily.

thanks, tho at the moment I'm feeding my tank twice daily.. not until they won't eat anymore, but just regular small/medium feedings.... keeps everyone happy :)

I feed my fish a variety of food three times a day, using the processed food (sinking pellets) as more of a supplement than a staple.

Flakes 1 time a day and then frozen in the evening for most tanks.

My discus get 2 flake servings and a frozen in the evening also.

That's worked for me, but there certainly was no scientific process that went into the planning.

I guess I'm just wondering if my fish are missing out on anything beneficial by not feeding them pellets/flakes?

since I bought into Dr. F's recent frozen food sale, my spare freezer is packed also. since I have so much I feed frozen every nite to my discus juvies (now have seen some nice growth) but prior to that I fed flakes & some pellets. now I mix it up, flakes - frozen - freeze dried bloodworms.
