white stringy something

I have one of my black skirt tetras has a long stringy something coming out of his anus, it is not detrius. it's about 1 1/2 - 2 inches what do I do? do I need to treat him? hospital tank? treat whole tank? help I've never seen this before.

White stringy poop is generally a sign of internal parasites. It would be wise to treat the whole tank with a suitable med such as Jungles Internal Parasite Guard.

how will I know the treatment worked? I'm on day 2 of 3 for the first week. It says to treat 3 days in a row for 4 weeks.

I don't notice anything any more, can't even tell which fish was affected. back to regular food, will the medicated food harm my amanos if they eat some? I am dosing for the full 4 weeks .
