Prime has them all beat...also...watch the labels on some products...some require a double dose to handle chloramine there by cutting how far the bottle claims it will dose in half...

If economy is what you're looking for nothing beats bulk sodium thiosulphate. It doesn't do anything with ammonia like Prime but my tap contains chloramine and I do 50% weekly changes with no problem using thiosulphate. If all you deal with is chlorine it's even an easier choice. I get 1 lb for about $6 and it treats 25,000 gal. Nothing else including Prime even comes close in terms of economy. And if you buy it from a photographic supply house in larger quantities it's probably even cheaper. It's used to develop film, just ask for "hypo". I dissolve a tsp in an oz of RO water and add 2 drops per gal to my tap water.

I usually buy Pond Prime Oasis by the half gallon for $28-$32 which treats 40,000 gallons. Same stuff so I just refill my prime bottle and eye dropper bottle with it. Then I don't have to worry about running out for a long time.

Correction I paid $47 shipping included but its still a good value and convenience as it does get used up.

You can also buy it in the 500 ml bottle for $19.95 treats about 10,000 gallons.

ST has them all beat. If your concerned about ammonia due to chloramine (which your biofilter should handle rather easily) dose prime at 1/2 recomended dose.

I too had bought 1g from kensfish.com

pure ST is interesting option, thks.

chloram also.

I still have lots of prime left. just wanted to consider more economical options when it's time to replace.

thks again all!
