Just wanted to show some updated pics of my Lygodactylus williamsi (often called Electric or Neon Blue Geckos). The tank I keep my trio in is an 18"x18"x24 Exo Terra that is pretty heavily planted. Most of the plants have been in here for about 6 months so they've filled out nicely. Please excuse the water spots on the glass (I have nasty hard water) and the poo. These guys have a bad habit of going on the glass and plants. A couple days a week I take a spray bottle and wash it off everything. Anyways, enjoy the pics! :D

About 4 months ago I lost my first female from the original pair I bought. She got a parasite and died pretty suddenly. A few weeks ago I bought 2 new females to replace her. They are extremely tame and don't shy away when I'm around the tank which is nice because my wussy male gecko is finally learning I'm nothing to be afraid of. One of the females is a nice light green while the other has more of a copper coloring.

And here's the male. These pictures don't do him justice. He's much more blue than what my camera captures. Plus, he hates to pose for the camera. As soon as I go to focus he runs from the red laser and turns a darker shade of blue. I'll do my best to get some updated pics of him as soon as he gets use to my camera.

Great setup and photos! The male has an incredible color on him.
If have always had problems trying to keep the more humid gecko species (Cresties, etc). Living in colorado, my room is lucky to get above 10% humidity... and spraying lasts for about 10 minute. ;)

Thanks. I keep these guys in my basement along with a trio of crested geckos. I spray the cage twice a day so the cage stays pretty humid. If you want to keep more humidity in a gecko tank where you live I'd recommend covering most of the openings and top of the cage with plexiglass. Plus if you use live plants and Eco Earth soil it really helps hold the humidity in.

The 10% humidity includes potted plants, eco-earth, and even a custom-made background with eco-earth it in.
I'll work something out some day... but for now, my Leo is perfectly fine for me. I just have to stay out of herp stores.

Those are awesome! Are you going to breed them?

I'm trying to get out of keeping and breeding leos. I've got WAY too many of them hence my sig. :D

That's the plan. The one female is gravid so I should be getting a pair of eggs very soon. Then comes the fun of figuring out how to hatch them.

Got my first egg the other day and boy is it tiny (about the size of a dried up pea). I'm excited, I hope it hatches. I guess I'm going to have to start a fruit fly culture in the near future to feed the little guy.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately the eggs stick to whatever they are laid on so I'm not going to touch it. The risk of breaking it is too much. I wish it was on a flat surface so I could place a very small deli cup over it.

Thanks and yes the males of this species are really something to see. They look even better in person. The females aren't bad either.
I believe you, there are loads of these guys being imported to the US right now. They're from a section of forest in Tanzania that unfortunately is being rapidly cut down. I wouldn't be surprised if this species is extinct in the wild within the next 5-10 years.

Nice setup and geckos.
How hard it is to maintain a planted setup like that? I can barely keep my houseplants alive lol.

Thanks MAC. It's not too difficult to keep the plants alive. I just make sure to spray them everyday seeing how that's the only way these geckos obtain water and I give the soil a good soaking in each plant container once a week. So far so good. I like to keep the plants in their original containers. That way if they start to die or whatever they can be easily removed.

Don't know how many house plants I have killed by trying to do a good thing by moving them to new/bigger pots:o:rofl:

Most houseplants originate from places that have high humidity. So in a setup like that for the geckos the plants should thrive. I had some plants in inclosed containers and they grew nicely but when they werent in there containers they died. Pothos and philodenrons love high humidity so do dieffenbachia's granted dieffens are not suitable for geckos due to there toxic nature.
Nice gecko's Vicious. If I lived near you ide prob go over alot not to visit you but to visit your large array of pets. Lizards geckos fish turtles lol
