I had gotten this tidepool filter and I have it sitting under-neth the 150.
I thought I finally had gotten a filter powerful enough for a boarding situation and to create good breeding conditions with enough water currents.
Then I start hearing these filters risk flooding when the power goes out.
Well, that's not too good for boarding. I won't find out the tank is flooding for days. What if it floods and I don't have time to drive to the tank that week?. And even if my parents figure it out, they'll do something dumb like put the pump into a bucket. That's what my father did last time, he put the magnum canister into a bucket instead of turning it off because it was leaking.
The challenge is, the 150 has to be over filtered because it's a boarded tank and has limited space on the back for filters. Otherwise I would line up all those unused power filters I have and be done with it.
So, should I try and fix up the tidepool or have them in an under-filtered tank until I can save up for a better filter?. this could be risky and delay breeding because I might not be able to buy one until next year.
