Aquabid has some dynomite looking wild caught Betta Imbellis pairs for sale. I was thinking about a 10 gallon, (15 if I could squeeze it into my tiny house), heavily planted tank with just the pair of Imbellis in it. Are there any special requirements for success with wild caught versus tank bred? Will they eat prepared foods? Are they pickier about water parameters? They're not inexpensive fish, and I'd like to be prepared to do it right the first time, if I do it.
Thank you

Keep the current low, maintain good water quality, feed as you would any other betta. If they won't take prepared foods, try to have a variety of the freeze dried, frozen or live sorts.
I'd suggest mild peat filtration or ketapang leaves.

Will oak leaves work?

I know lots of folks that use oak leaves...they dissolve slower than most other US leaves and will leach tannins for you. Driftwood will also help...

Thank you for the help. I just ordered the pair of Imbellis. From the pictures, the male looks fantastic. I can hardly wait!

Good brown autumn oak leaves. I've heard nothing but happy stories.
One thing you may want to consider is to put them in a QT first or plant after.
Wild caught fish are more likely to carry parasites than aquarium bred fish. Some medications dont mix too well with plants encase you have to end up using one.
