Wondering if anyone uses a Marineland duetto 100 filter?

It is a compact, internal submersable filter. Its like $30 at petco.

Looking for an easy way to add charcoal filtration to a 20 gal shrimp tank, and this looks like it may fit the bill.

I think the picture you showed is a 50, but I have a 100.

you can pretty much throw anything you want in it... the carbon inserts clog up if you use them longer than specified... and the intake can clog fairly quickly in a dense tank, but it's a nice unit on the whole. I like it's venturi input option... and you can actually take the return off and hook up 1/2" hose (maybe 3/8" but I forget). My only real complaints are that they run a little warm, so in a tiny tank in the summer it may drive the temp up a bit, and that the flow adjuster is INSIDE the filter, so you have to dissasemble to adjust it. I also wish the suction cups were a little stronger, or that I could adapt it for magnets....

I actually have mine set up now with the stock prefilter foam, and then eheim ceramic rings, with the foam on top, with a small piece of egg crate to keep the foam out of the return/flow adjuster. it works great.

I'm running one in a killifish tank. Seems like a decent filter so far.

Mine works pretty well. It has an adjustable flow rate, which is nice. I use mine on a 10g and full-power creates a pretty strong current in it.

I love these little filters, Zig. They are real workhorses and a deal and a half for the price. Never have had one clog, and that was running a pair of them with goldfish.
