I was thinkin of adding a few otto's or gold algae eaters to my community 55gal. I have 7 tiger barbs, 6 zebra danios, and 6 lemon tetras, and 3 yoyo loaches. I'm just wondering if there'd be a problem with the TB's or the yoyos?

I only ask because I've not kept either the algae eater or otto before. Can't really find anything on the web stating if there'd be a prob.

I have tigers with my ottos. Not a problem at all. Occasionally a barb will try to nip or chase an otto, but those suckers are fast!!!

In the 55 gal I wanted to have at least 3 otto's. From what I'm reading on the algae eaters, they can be pretty aggressive so I may not get them.

Yes they can be. I had to relocate one of mine because he was messin with my Corys.(Nobody messes wit my Corys!! LOL)

Thanks for the advice, guys. Yep, I think we will avoid the algae eaters, and go with about 5 otto's. I need to find 2 more yoyo's, too. I'm down to 2 large ones now, someone tortured or tormented the other 2 smaller ones to death.

I suspected it was the 2 large ones because they always hang together, and have been perfectly happy for the past month since the other 2 are gone.
