opinoions and experiences with magdrive and quiet one pumps

hi,
i am looking to purchase a 500-700 gallon per hour pump for external use on a 3- gallon fish tank and was looking for peoples opinions on the new line of quietone pumps and how they compare to the magdrives.

Con't compare, but the magdrives I've used have worked very well. The impellers have been replaced, but that's common maintenance, and likely the result of having sand get in the pump.

Why are you using such a large pump on a 3 gallon tank? Typo?

I have been using a magdrive 5 on my 20 reef for a couple of years. It has been quiet and reliable. And cheap. If you use it inline (as opposed to submerged), you may want to seal the impeller housing with silicone. Mine has generally leaked a little at first, then plugged with salt creep after a week or so.
