I put two female bettas together in a 30 gal tank and one is becoming so overly aggressive that she wouldn't let the other one come up to the surface.
I don't have housing alternative right now. Lets' see;
-Australes?...I 'm told no.
-Nothos. Korthasaue, I have no idea. Better not risk it since there's no info.
Unfortunately here is where the main complication arises, the baby korthasuae were expected to be fully grown by the time I was leaving and be combined with the adults. So now they are unexpectedly occupying two tanks because the babies are too small to be combined with the adults.
-With a male betta in a community?...Guess not huh, nobody seems to recommend it in tanks of these sizes..
There's two male bettas here and both will be in the community tanks either with BN plecos, lampeyes killies .
- With the danios?...Replacement danios will have to quarantined up to the day I leave. Two died mysteriously so probably not a good idea.
-With my synos?...They'd be feeders the same day.
-With my clown plecos?...I tried it before and bettas hate the strong currents in that tank. Last time I tried it, poor betta had raggedy fins.
So that leaves them being together in the 30 gal.
I wonder if I can I make this work for at least the duration of the holidays/three weeks if I keep sticking in more hidey places?>.
I know two female bettas is not a good combo, but I figured with so much room it could work out.
When the korthauses can be combined into one tank, a female betta can be moved into that tank...In fact, I'll probably make a new sorority there eventually.
