I recently won 2 seperate auction for 2 different pair of apistos. Knowing that a holiday week was coming up and rumors of slowed priority shipping, I decided to bite the bullet and pay for express on both of these items. I'm also going out of town the week after thanksgiving so i wanted them acclimated and comfy before i left. I paid one seller thru google express wednesday evening. Didn't hear another word from him. I emailed him Sunday evening about an update and he said "i only ship mondays so it'll go out then." OK, no big deal. Well I got an email from him today claiming he forgot about turkey day and wouldn't ship this week so everything is going out the week after. Do you see the bind that puts me in? I shot him back an email reminding him that I paid for express and thanksgiving shouldn't interfere with that and that I'd be going out of town the following week which was part of the reason I paid for express and if he truly would not ship me the fish then he's going to have to ship them to a different address since I won't be home. At this point, there's no response.

Now the second person I won the auction from take credit cards over the phone. I got an invoice and a number to call and wednesday evening or thursday, i don't remember, I called. I got sent to voicemail stating to leave a message and that she is sick and would get back to me as soon as possible. I've heard nothing. I sent an email to her on Sunday night the same as i did with the other seller. Still have heard nothing thru email nor a phone call. Now I understand people get sick BUT there are auctions that have been made AFTER i left my voicemail. If she's too sick to return and email or a phone call and get her money, how is she not too sick to be posting more auctions.

I'm just frustrated and a bit peeved at the lack of professionalism and courtesy and downright communication some of these people have. Especially since they seem to be making a business out of selling on AB and i'm sure other sites.

Just a rant.

That sucks. But that is also part of buying off the net.I recently bought a light off Amazon, and the "store" I bought it from either forgot to ship it,or just did not plan on shipping it at all. They did however charge me for it.After sending 3 emails without getting a response,I finally called them. The guy I talked to acted very surprised that I had not received it yet.It had been 3 weeks. After yelling at him for 5 minutes,he asked what I wanted him to do.I said I want the light that I paid for.3 days later I got the light. :screwy:

Now I'm ranting.

I can relate. Fortunately, I've not had too much for "bad sellers" on Ebay, Aquabid, etc. However, I hate, hate, hate how people can sort of mask their location, so sometimes you're buying something from Malaysia or China, etc., which takes forever to ship. When you live in a climate that has very cold winters, you need to know where your stuff comes from so that you can plan when to be home, whether or not to even buy, etc. Once I had bought some anubias from a seller on Aquabid, not realizing they were in Malaysia, and it took 3 weeks to get to me and was completely frozen! Ugh.

This is why I wait for my desired item shows up on this forum. Even at best I do not buy from this forum from any members without feedback unless they are recommended by someone I already trust. It is difficult to know whom to trust when dealing online and if I don't get a tracking number I begin the process of finding out what's going on. As a seller I try to keep customers informed BEFORE they feel the need to contact me. The thing that screws up my orders are my health and unfortunately it can't be helped.

I trust Ebay and kijiji more than I trust AB. Just have heard of too many deals going sour.

I hate it when sellers don't communicate. I've had some of the worst experiences with some Aquabid sellers.. I actually won an auction around this time last year, and it still hasn't been resolved.

Well I don't know if one of the sellers is a member here because prior to going to work last night (about 4 hours after this thread was made), I receieved an email from him and we worked out when to get these guys shipped so they wouldn't arrive to an empty home. I'm about to call the other one again and see if I actually get a response or just get flipped to voicemail again. *sigh* I'm not a naturally crabby person but this one seller might make me turn into one of those horror customers businesses always tend to complain about.
