I have a female long-finned golden Danio who has, for the last few days not been acting normal. She looks very swollen with eggs.
She's been keeping more or less to herself about 5 or 6 inches below the water swimming in circles or figure eights keeping to the same spot.
She's been swimming with nose pointing up slightly.
Other possible hints. She has what looks like dark scars- or maybe stretch marks oh her sides.
I have once (and only once) witnessed a long white stringy poop- which I know can be a sign of parasites- although I've never seen her or any other fish with this since or before.
I've not measured in the last few days- but typically..
Water temps are about 77F-78F. GH and KH 8. pH is 7.5. Ammonia and Nitrites 0- Nitrates typically stay below 20. I do 33% water changes every day.
No aggressive tank mates. No other fish looks ill or shares any of her symptoms.
She's had the dark marks for a few weeks- getting darker- but thought little of it since she seemed healthy (although I have been keeping an eye on her because of it).
The weird swimming started yesterday. The one white poop was yesterday too.
They do have a weekly fast day.
Can Danios suffer from being egg-bound?
