I'm just sick about it, but I think my little female ADF that I've had for almost two years has early stage Chytrid. She has several white-ish flat spots on her head, her forehead and slightly above and between her eyes.
I had to euthanise her buddy "Allie", just recently, after she accidently swallowed a veggie pellet and developed bloat.
I was moving this one, "Annie", to a different tank and thought I had the net carefully covered with my hand, but she jumped from the net I had her in and landed on the floor. Probably about a 5 story fall for you and me, but she has seemed OK; nothing broken and she has been swimming and eating normally for over a week since that happened, but I'm afraid the stress may have brought this on.
I don't know why else she may have contracted this. I've had them both, happy and healthy for nearly two years, and now this.
I need chloramphenicol, but I called the animal emergency hospital for "after hours" emergencies and they want $100 just to see her before they will prescribe anything.
She's sitting on the mounting bracket of the heater with her nose out of water. The parameters are good, otherwise: ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10, temperature 76.5
I don't know what to do. I've heard that Lamasil can possibly help.
