I know this is completely offtopic with out fish talks, but since Christmas is coming, I'd like to get replace my old computer with a laptop.

Few reasons to get a new laptop
1. Computer is extremely slow and can't multitask on it (download songs while browsing the inter and watching videos) and my computer was an old computer from my mom's work.
2. Small screen. I'd like to be able to bring the laptop to my bed to watch movies or youtube videos.
3. Portability, so I can do some work after school in the living room instead of beign stuck in my room.

I'm basically taking suggestions on what type of laptop to get, if you don't know any, tell me what laptop your using so I can look it up and see if I like it.

What I want:
4GB Ram (for multitasking)
Long battery life (4 hours or more)
250+ memory for storing music and movies
HD screen, or a good screen to watch movies
Built in webcam
and it's under $600.

Thank you so much.

That's what I need help. I was looking at the Sony Vaio VGN-NW235F/w as a baseline to what I'm looking for. I might just get that but can't find it anywhere.

I have the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960.

-4GB ram (best multitasking comp I've dealt with, but not saying much)
-Potential 6 hours of battery (I believe, has three battery life/performance options)
-320 GB hard drive (I still have lots of room with lots of music and such)
-16" HD display
-Built in webcam

I think mine was $699 at best buy this summer, but they are only advertising for the S6980 on their website

I would make sure the laptop has windows 7 rather than Vista. I have vista but they generally say the 7 os is a vast improvement of vista.

That one is the one I suggested to my GF, she got it and loves it.
Don't know how well the video playback is, as she just got it sunday (haven't had time to tinker with it :] ) The battery doesn't really last 9 hours, only (not saying it's bad or anything, it's actually amazing) 6 1/2 hours. Has everything your looking for.

ONLY drawback is that it has no CD/DVD drive, but you can buy an external one for cheap($50, bringing the total to $600ish), or keep all your stuff on a flash drive.
Another touchy thing is the mouse pad, it's weird. Not uncomfortable, but just takes some getting used to.
