which brand of test kits is the best for measuring nitrate,ph and calcium as well as alkalinity. the following are api or red sea.only those two

does red sea have very different colours on the colour chart and slight differences in amounts. ihave api but their nitrate tesk kit sucks

Their nitrate kit, IME, isn't bad at all. Not 100% accurate and not in small enough gradation for reef aquaria, but not bad for most other applications. Can't beat the price, either.

I recommend Salifert in Elos, personally. I use Elos for calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, phosphate, and nitrate. The only Salifert kit I don't like is the alkalinity kit, which seems to be off substantially in many cases, at least at one point. I haven't tried any newer batches of their kits recently.
