hi all, first post so be gentle :)

I've got a black Molly thats acting very strange. Early yesterday i checked the tank as usual, had my usual count up (!) i noticed it was missing. Anyway, i found it on its side on the floor next to some rocks.

It seems to be gulping a lot but nothing more. i tried to encourage it to move and it did but just about. Most of the time it just seems to drag along the floor.

To be honest, i thought the end was near and expected to find it dead this morning but although it hadnt moved it was still going. I've come home today to see it still alive and i've just fed all the others and it was up the top as normal, eating away. Now, its on the floor again hardly moving.

I've had the molly for about 6 weeks and before all this it would be swimming around fine.

probably not explaining it well but any ideas?

Hard to tell...Does it look funny? Any spots, tears, puffiness etc?

What are the specifics of the tank? temp, pH, nitrates, etc.

Is she pregnant? It can sometimes get hard for them to move about.

BTW: Welcome to the board!:hi:

hi,

I've had my tank for about 8 weeks now and i did have problems originally but now it is crystal clear. ph is about 7.5, i've got a slight problem with amonia (hovers around 1 - 1.5) so water changes are quite regular (once every 3 days)

I did have 6 mollies (2 black, 2 gold and 2 white) originally and i am now down to 3 (1 of each). I've had 3 deaths in the last 10 days. One had 'pop-eye' so i quarantined it but it soon died.

They share with some neons, glowlights and bronze cory's in my 22 gallon (uk) tank.
