Other than Rams, which my LFS don't carry, and very large 5+ inch ones, which Cichlids can I have with my current stock of fish in a 120Gal?
I have 3 angels, girl opaline gourami, 2 plecos, peaceful rainbow shark & 3 groups of tetra that get along with everyone since they are in groups large enough not to care about other fish.
We might have a 55g free this spring/summer if our pond gets done for the Golds to live in. So in that separate case, what Cichlids smaller than 5in can live together in a 55g?
Thanks!

kribs i think stay smaller than that and are peaceful, and there easy to breed, they may look dull but once they think about mating they color up real quick

well you can always go cheak and if they don't a few people on here have them, thou they sell them realy small, so you might have to grow them out

I have some Australoheros oblongum juvies available. The males may grow to 5" eventually (females more like 3") but they're mellow enough to mix with anything too large to eat. What kind of tetras do you have?

I'm a big fan of geos and for a 120 I'd go with some G. "red head tapajos"! They will get about 6" and are peaceful.

Btw watch out for your shark, mine went pyscho at 3" so I had to remove him.

I'm guessing Discus aren't in consideration? In that case I would go with Geophagus sp. ( no Brasiliensis ), Severums, Keyhole cichlids, Blue Acaras.... etc for the 120.
For the 55 you should look into Africans if you want a large community. It's tough to keep more than one species of SA/ CA cichlid in a 55 gal. It can be done but with Rams out, you're really limited in smaller New Worlders.

I'd get a couple of those Kirbensis
They are sweet fish!
Ofcourse you would have room for others as well
