alge problem n high amonia pic heavy (i hope!)

i have a 40 and a 29. i got started last january with the purchase of a crashed 40g reef tank for all of a hundred bucks. i got tank stand hob 350 filter skimmer coralife light and rock (30-40lbs). not quite a year later ive only tested this tank about 5 times. im test a phobic lol ill try to fix it NOW n kill stuff..lol. im still batteling with that lil OCD thing lol. as long as i do my stuff to it regularly tho all seems to work out. ive been batteling some nasty alge in my sand for awhile now though so ive been testing again..lol..so far ive managed to take it slow on the fixing of it . my amonia was at 25 so i cut feeding down to almost nothing for the flame angel n once a week for corals n the ss star. they get 1 cap a week is all now o zooplankton. i have phisicaly siphoned out all the alge that was compacting my sand and that appears to be helping i also cut the light on for alot less time and cut the blue moonlight off altogether. i missed a couple of waterchanges pluss added some new stuff during that time from a crashing reef (not a good idea in retrospect lol altho i did get some fine peices cheap i also got some problems with em!) anyways heres some pics of the fourty and my lil 29 too. ive got almost no money invested in my corals i got most of them as single or double little polyps n glued them in with superglue gel and from there, THEY decide where they wanna move to lol. enjoy!
