I've been telling myself i needed a new camera. the old one just wasnt getting the quality i'm looking for .. so i just dropped a small pile of $ on something and my friend sends me a pic of his tank taken with his camera- same as my old camera.
i guess it all comes down to operator ability. cause if i was getting pics this good, i wouldnt have bought another.

Its all about lighting, focus, no flash etc. I still can't figure it all out. I've been trying to get good pics of my tanks but none of them are postable. :p

That is a pretty good pic!

I almost missed this post..

It's a nice pic! It looks like the it's an 'above shot'.. Wonder how deep the water is there?

Mhm...I've found the best way is to use the closeup feature and zoom in quite a bit. Sometimes, using the flash at an angle (to avoid the reflection in the glass) is a big help. Perhaps one of the most useful tools is a tripod - even one of those 1' table top tripods. Work great resting it on a chair in front of the tank.

Oh, and wait until night, then turn all of the house lights off - and use just the tank lights.

But personally, the best way for me to get good pics is by accident! It seems that whenever I'm trying to do something else, like take a snapshot of some java fern, I get the best fish pictures I take!:D

Though, for awhile, I was using my mother's crappy camera...but my fiance's parents gave me a new one for xmas and its great! So much more crispness in the shots:)

Hey, yah this camera is right about there pricewise, I believe. It may have been $199 at BestBuy. It is a Kodak EasyShare CX6330.

Here are its specifications. Honestly, I don't know what half of it means. And I know its 'lacking' some "advanced" features - but as it is, I'd never use them anyway! I think its an awesome little camera!
