I'm moving from VA to IL. I'm giving all my fish away to friends so I only have to subject them to a tank to tank transition, instead of a trip halfway across the country and then stuffing them into a tank which is most likely to go through a mini-cycle.

Anyway, my daughters 20 gal freshwater. If you could stock this tank, what would you put in it?

ever think about starting a 20 g reef tank with a clown fish (nemo!)

If it's a 20L, then I'd get a pair of German Rams, 4 otos, and 6-7 leopard or zebra danios.

If it's a 20H, then I'd get a dwarf gourami, 6-7 cherry barbs, 4 otos, and 4 small cories.

I would like a pair of blockhead cichlids. They are so freakishly ugly that they are cool :).

Ugly is right, holy crap.

I like the idea of a larger school of cories with a "show" fish like a betta or something.

Today is my last day at work here in VA :D.

perhaps not blockheads, but a cichlid tank would be cool.

honestly, if I could start over, I wouldn't change my fish, but I would have spent more time planting it. Well, maybe I would have worked some blue rams in there. I have: white clouds, rasboras, chinese algae fish and will soon to get: gold barbs and two gouramis. I wouldn't work with bettas. They don't play nice. I tried that in my sister's 10 gallon and was disappointed. After watching the betta harass the other fish for five minutes, I decided it was time for him to go. IMO gouramis or cichlids or angels are prettier anyways. Haha, but they don’t play well either, but at least you can have a school of them apposed to just one, like the bettas.

Good luck with the move, make sure to keep us inform.
