Hey guys!

I have ick i am trying to cure and was wondering if I were to move some plants that are floating into a different tank, would the carry the disease?

I'm not sure if i want to take a risk

thanks!

As I understand it, yes they could transfer the ick.

You could quarantine the plants in a bucket for a few days, and then it would be safe. The cyst stage can last over three days, depending on temperature. When the cyst hatches, if there's no fish for the new ich to attach themselves to, they'll die in the bucket. I'd probably keep the plants in the bucket for at least a week to be safe--that way, you can be sure the cyst have hatched and the new ich are dead.

thanks guys!

I really appreciate the responses
