So, my play has had clamped fins for a few days and today it looked way worse and he was bumping up against stuff. Flashing? So I think he has flukes. He is the only one so far.

Should I treat the tank with salt, how much?

Or should I use Fluke Tabs?

Stocking list:

3 cory cats
3 platys
5 tiger barbs
hornwort, some other plant + duckweed

Thanks,
Bettaobsession :)

Yep, a 0.3% solution of salt (3 teaspoons per gallon; a teaspoon only if cories are involved) and praziquantel will do it. Flubendazole can be used if prazi is not accessible but you can buy prazi as Prazipro or Droncit and they're not exactly cheap.

Thanks Lupin!

will the cories be okay w/ a teaspoon of salt?

If I am treating the whole tank, 29 gallon = 29 teaspoons of salt?
Use Aquarium salt?
How long do I leave the salt in for before doing a WC? Do I like, put the salt in, wait? then do a WC?
I have 3 cories in there so, only 1 TS per gallon
I also have 2 pregnant platys in there, will they be okay?

Thanks people!

0.1% with 29g is 29 teaspoons, yep. Doesn't matter whether it was aquarium salt or table salt. Go with the cheaper alternative. When you do water changes while treatment is ongoing, you may do it but redose the salt again per the water volume replaced. If you remove 10 gallons of the 29g tank, then add again 10 teaspoons of salt. The platies will be fine.

Thanks, how long should I leave the salt in then?

Give it 3-4 weeks, same date with prazi. Here's prazi treatment schedule. So have you added prazi yet?

Remove carbon.
Add 2.5 milligrams per liter of water.
If you are using the powdered version, it is difficult to dissolve. Predissolve in tank water by shaking it up in a small container.
Dosing
Day 1 -- remove carbon, perform water change with vacuuming, and add Prazi to tank
Day 2 -- add Prazi
Day 3 -- do nothing
Day 4 -- do nothing
Day 5 -- do nothing
Day 6 -- add Prazi
Day 7 -- add Prazi
Day 8 -- normal partial water change with vacuuming
Day 14 - normal partial water change, then add prazi
Day 21 - normal partial water change, then add prazi
Day 28 - normal partial water change, then add prazi
Day 35 - normal partial water change, add carbon, treatment is complete

So what seems weird is that it doesn't really seem like he has it anymore.....
what should I do?
Also, do you think you could tell me why my two cory cats are very inactive ALL day?

Thanks Lupin!!!!!
