Hello all,

Im old here in Aquaria Central but have never posted anything before, just read and read...

Well, I had an 68gal all glass aquarium of 6mm glass I made, but I had some bad luck with it and the bottom broke like 3 times, the last time it was like 7am in the morning and I heard a loud sound, and my surprise was seeing all my tropical fishes in the floor gasping for some water, I have a quite big pond for a turtle I bought a year ago, and my last resort to save them was to move them to the turtle house.

I have 2 Angels, 2 big Plecostomus, 6 big koi and some other small fishes.

Well now I want to build a bigger and better built aquarium, I know I will need a better stand and more filtration for them.

I live in Guatemala, and here I can find really big plates of glass of 12mm at a relatively low price: They sold me the glass at $135 at a size of 214cm x 180cm I just need to tell them the sizes so they cut the glass to my specs.

I am planning in buying 2 plates of glass and constructing the aquarium at this dimensions:

front glass: 214cm width x 90cm height
sides: 90cm height x 75cm depth
bottom: 75cm x 214cm

I know I have to substract the 12mm of the glass thickness and I know it would be an aquarium of roughly 360 galons. I am planning in making an all metal base for the aquarium.

My question is would it hold it together if I make the aquarium at 90cm tall?
The last aquarium I had was of 6mm and 50cm tall and didnt hold it together, I made a scratch in the front glass and I think my bigger koi bumped the glass so it broke.

Please excuse me my english we speak spanish here. And thanks for the help, I will post some pictures of my fishes in the turtle house in the morning! :uhoh:
