hello everyone as you know im new to the forum...i was wondering if anyone can tell me if this would work for a ugf i already have 2 hob filters on my 30 gal. but felt i needed more bio filter so i came up with a ideal for a ugf i used a 1 liter pop bottle drilled a hole in the bottom for the airline tube filled it half way with pea gravel and the rest of the way with bio-balls and drilled a hole in the top of the cap for a outlet.and drilled 2 holes in the side for the water to get in.the bottle is submerged in the corner...would this work as a cheap alturnative to a ugf...

Something kind of like that has been mentioned here before. I used the search option and found these threads-

I'm not sure how well your idea will work. My first thoughts are that it would get clogged and dirty pretty quick if your not using any sponge media. Thanks for sharing your idea though. You'll have to let us know if it works or not..
