I've decided to start a little vinyl collection. getting married in Sept. and I'd like to setup the basement with one of those old record player furniture pieces they used to make back in the 60s/70s. I checked the local classifieds, and ran into this:

Telefunken Tourne disque 70's/ 70 Telefunken Record Player unit

I'm picking it up tonight! He only wants 50$ for it! I'm debating whether or not to sand it down and re-lacquer it, but from its current condition, it looks very decent!

Best part, the radio and record player work fine!!!

Like they say, they don't build'em like they used to.

I think you guys are right on the refinishing. The seller mentioned that it has 2 scratches on it, but besides that it's in great condition. maybe I'll only fill in those scratches and try to restore that part only.

Thanks for the comments!

Bocomo, I don't know what the style I like is labeled as. I mostly like retro 60s style furniture (provided it's from the era and not a cheap knockoff)... Lots of straight lines, angles, stuff like that.. not sure if it's considered to be contemporary...
