I ordered some bumblebee catfish at work since their scientific name said that they were Microglanis iheringi, the smaller South American cat. I definitely didn't want to order the Asian cats, Pseudomystsus siamensis, due to their size and predatory nature because most of our customers just have smaller community tanks and aren't the most dedicated fish keepers ever (yes, I work for a large chain store).
Well, they came in yesterday so spent most of the day with the lights off. Upon my visit to work today, I got to looking at them and realized they looked nothing like the drawings and photos I had seen of M. iheringi. I get online and look up the Asian cats and low and behold, they fit the description and illustrations perfectly. I guess I won't be ordering these guys from this vendor anymore. I was pretty excited to get some SA cats in too. =(
