So I got this used Marineland Emperor 400 from a friend who also got it used with a bunch of equipment and tanks at an auction. It seemed to work okay except that the flow was not up to par. Nothing like my 280. I took it apart again and noticed that the flow manifold housing (number 6 in this link) was separated under where the spray bars connect. It looks like a clean break at a seam, so I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be like that or was actually broken. I figure that's why it's not pumping right, because it can't get the pressure up.
However, I can't seem to find anyone who sells this part! Online or otherwise. I haven't tried calling Marineland yet because one of the LFSs around me was supposed to see if they could order it and how much. That was 3 weeks ago, not a peep from them, argh! So, I was wondering if I could somehow glue (Gorilla glue, perhaps?) that part together to see if I could save a little cash and effort trying to get this part. At the very least, I could see if that is indeed the problem or not.
Does this sound like a good idea? Anyone have suggestions on how to go about gluing this sucker together or where to get that part?:help2:
