Male and females yellow labs are very hard ot tell apart jsut by looks. All yellow labs should have black on their fins. Sometimes LFS have what they call "solid yellow labs" which are supposedly yellow labs that are all yellow, but a few discussion on another board says they are most likely hybrids between yellow labs and red zebras, not line bred yellow labs like you would think.
Males tend to have more black on their fins and are larger. But sometimes females can show these caracteristics too. Venting them is the only way to be sure.
Are you plannign on breeding them, is that why you want to sex them?

the 3 i have dont have any black on their fins, i guess its one of those solid yellow labs
but the one has tons of black
is it possible for those 2 breed together?

I dont think you can sex them just by the blackness on thier fins, body, etc.
I would say wait it out and see what happens. Even if you had 1 male and three females you can't force them to breed. Just wait and see if any get it on.

From my experience, if you have a male yellow lab and a female yellow lab, and both are sexually mature, it will only be a matter of time before you have fry.
The other fish - with black - doesn't sound like a yellow lab. I'd return it to prevent it from mating with the labs.

Yellow labs should have a bright yellow body, free from any barring or black. Their fins should have black. LIke this http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/l_caeruleus.php
Here is disscuses what "good labs" are.

I wouldn't breed any yellow labs that wasn't a good specimin as there are already enough bad looking labs out there.
For protential breeder labs i would look for bright yellow body with no barring. No black anywhere on teh body or muddy markings. Nice black fins.
If some of you fish are solid yellow then i wouldn't breed them with other labs. As you can never be sure. THey can either be hybris or line bred.If they are hybrids i wouldnt' think of breeding them but if htey are line bred only breed them with other solid yellows.

You have a nice looking lab if it looks like the one in the pic.
As for the others, if they ahve barring and no black fins i would return them and tr to get another lab that looks like the first one.
Pics would be appreciated
