what color should i paint the background?

Just got my 90 gallon today, going to paint the back soon.

Instead of painting the back, why not just use material and velcro it to the back. Not as permentent. I used black leatherette for the back of mine. Just a suggestion.

early X-mas gift... though im not allowed to set it up yet, i was the only one who could bring it inside the house :rolleyes:

anyways- i dont know about black, if you dont cover most of the back with rock or livestock it looks really dark. i might though, i do have black paint already. I too liked the dark blue.

The back is likely to end up being completely covered in coralline anyway, no? :D

Along the lines of what moose suggested, if you can't decide on what color to paint it, you may want to just go buy the pre-printed backgrounds in different colors and see what looks best. That way, you could switch the backgrounds around and make a choice before you do anything permanent.

What kind of tank is this going to be? Do you have a stand and hood yet?

My stand is almost done, im moving all the inhabitants of the 37 gallon reef into it.

I have a light blue background on the one in my room and it looks decent.

Im working on the canopy next. Likely going to end up with 4x54 watt T5s and 2x250 watt MH.
