All-Glass Versa Hoods

Has any one bought one of these for a 75 gallon tank? I just did and the thing is to small! I was quite dissapointed. My tank is only like 3 years old, I am pretty sure the way tanks are being made is no different than before. Just wondering if any one else has had this problem, guess I am going to have to go with the old plexi-glass from Lowes now. O well just ranting.....

At least the LFS there sell the versa hinged tops...they only sell the overly expensive full hoods with lights or sub standard sliding glass tops here. I'm going to have hiunged glass tops bult for my new 66 and 75gal aquariums instead of dealing with the LFS.

How is it too small? Left to right? Front to back?

left to right, it hardly fits on the brace, any little nudge would send it falling into the water. the glass is only like 21 7/8 in long, the brace itself is 22 7/8 inches. so it litterally sits on the very very edge of the brace, maybe like less than 1/8 of an inch.

That's wierd, I have a pefecto 2 piece glass job like that that I bought 2 months ago on an all glass 90 I bought at the same time that fits perfectly. $30.00 at Petco

Well, just found out that obviously All-Glass Versa hoods atleast for 75 gallon tanks don't fit on Perfecto tanks. I had no idea Perfecto even made glass hoods till I went to a specialty fish store in Columbus, Ohio that actually sold them. Of course I scooped one up, they were $50 but worth it. The dimensions on the All Glass ones were like 22 1/8 in long, the Perfecto's are almost 22 7/8, a perfect fit. Guess the braces on All Glass and Perfecto are different. Go figure, good info I guess for any one that needs it! Sure beats buying one of them $160 "deluxe full hoods".
