I bought them as "Emerald Cories", but now I'm being told that Emeralds get much bigger than these are, and that Emeralds are not true cories. These (I'm pretty sure) are true cories, and they are much smaller than what the Emeralds get. They're about 2" or so, and they are well over a year old, and I'm positive they are full grown.

Thanks.

I've got 3 of them. When I looked for more a couple of weeks ago, the ones listed as Emerald cories were MONSTROUS, which got me thinking about mine, and when someone mentioned the other day that emerald cories get huge and are not true cories, it made me re-think what I purchased. I'm OK with them being bronze cories or green bronze cories or whatever they are. :) Just means I'll have to keep looking for a few more of them. They are always out and about and are very social little guys. Sometimes I'll even catch them schooling (or attempting to school with) the diamond tetras. They don't keep up with them for long, but will try on occasion. :)

I'd like to get a few more of them, but at the time that I bought these, I also had loaches, and did not want to overcrowd the bottom of the tank. I'll have to see about hunting some down now that I've got a bit more space for them, and I've got free space in my QT tank for them.

I'll keep my eyes peeled. :) I may just have the LFS that is ordering my fish for the 75 gal pick some of those up as well. In a 46 gal bowfront, what would be the ideal school size for these cories? Keep in mind there is one lone kuhli loach in there that apparently returned from the dead, which I'm not yet sure what to do with since I've only seen him twice in the past few months. I think (think!) he's still in there...

Cory's are nice little bottom guys, we have had two for a couple of years now. The spotted cory is just as he's always been, but our albino is looking like he/she has less fins all the time. This albino never had as flashy fins as the spotted one but now there's no top fin or side fins. He's happy as cory cat can be with his long 'whiskers' and tail but just nubs for fins. The wierdest thing ever.
