I have a 15 gallon long freshwater fish tank. I know im stretchin it but i would like either 1 male convict cichlid one breeding pair or 1 male or female with another tank mate. What options if any do i have?:bs:

def not a mating pair because if they breed you'll be in trouble
1 convict and maybe a bottom feeder of some type pleco, synd catfish

depending on the dims of the tank u can get away with one female con and one bottom feeder like some smaller type of catfish or bristlenose plec or rubbernose plec

The female Con I've got in my 8' tank is huge! She's not even a year old yet and 5" long and almost as big around, I had to name her Chunky Monkey. She grew so big and so fast in the 250 g tank that I'll never think a Con again will fit in anything less than a 45 g tank. I know they stay small in small tanks but obviously that's not their potential size. Look up some of the dwarf cichlids, awesome colors and they stay real small.
Here's that Con I was talking about from the front lol

I don't know-keep your nitrates below 10 ppm and feed a lot then sit back and watch lol
I've never seen a female Con this big.

That is one fat girl!

I would not put cons in a 15. Mine are smaller 3 1/2" male and 3" female. They are in a 36" long 35 gal. I have a 15 gal and could not imagine them being comfortable in it.
