Well, I'm in the market for a new monitor. Unfortunately, i've only had my previous monitor (a 26" HP w2558hc) for a year and it has progressively aggravated me as problems started to arise. These include the appearance of dead pixels, dust particles adhering to the inside of the screen (how did they get there?), and significant clouding/bleeding from the backlight. That, and it makes a crackling noise. I'm trying to stay away from HP, since I've had some problems dealing with them after purchasing this computer. They've been somewhat less than willing to honor warranties and offer help. So, to get around this, I am looking into a Samsung ToC T260HD (also 26") and I've found it for a very affordable price. All the other reviews I've seen are also stellar (was considering a Asus VK266h, but reviews weren't as good). I'm wanting to hear of any experiences out there on this and other monitors that are the same size. My price range is essentially 300-400 USD.

Samsung is a great brand.

I used to swear by Asus for motherboards, but in the last few years I question their quality. I'm actually in the market right now myself, deciding between getting a nicer monitor or HDtv.

I have a Samsung 24" and I couldn't be happier.

See, I got a TV as a generous gift for Christmas. That was 1st priority and now that I don't have to worry about it, it's time to address my gripes with my monitor.

Just replaced my 19" dell monitor with a samsung 19" hdtv. So far it's pretty good, just getting used to the wide screen but I like it.
