Ive been looking online for hours and cant find a 24" incandescent hood. I can find other sizes and 24" flourescents, and I can find 24" strip lights, but then I cant find the base plate. I dont have a local store to check, Ive looked online at Petco, Petsmart and other places and Im at a loss. Any ideas?

I am under the impression that to get the correct wattage for my plants, I need more than one bulb and cant find a flourescent hood with two bulbs, so I figured going with the incandescent was the easiest option. If Im wrong, somebody please tell me and make my life easier.

i find most chains sell 24" incandescent hoods but they are for heat lamps with reptiles. you have to specifically ask for an incandescent hood. i have one i just purchased a few months back at petland. it holds 2 screw in bulbs and a reflector.

If you're looking to light a planted aquarium, you want to stay away from incandescent light. Stick with fluorescent (either CFL or tubes). They will be more efficient and beneficial for your plants.

I will be using CFL's.

I did a ton of searches and found where the description said it was what I was looking for, but I would click on it and it would be a 20" or something else. I did find one at Big Al's that I will be ordering.
