Hi,
My heater malfunctioned today and tried to cook my fish. Lucky tho, I caught it before it got higher than 86. So everyone is ok, temp back to 78. I bought a new heater and herein lies my questions. I bought a different brand this time. It's a Marineland Stealth Shatter Proof 250 watt.
Is this a good heater? (please say yes..... )
my other heater had a little red light that came on to indicate it was heating the water. I see nothing like that on this heater. is that correct or am I missing something? Do I just assume it's heating when it needs to heat?
Thanks!

I have 3 of the 250w stealths, 2 of them replaced Hydor heaters that died (w/out cooking anything) after only a couple years. From what I've heard, the stealths tend to die peacefully as well, but they do have a lifetime guarantee. Just return the dead one for a new replacement. There is a newer model (stealth pro) that does have an indicator light, but the regular stealths don't. As far as quality, they're made in Japan, same as almost everything from Eheim canisters on down the line these days. Likely no better or worse than any other brand in the long run.

Thanks guys!! I appreciate your responses! Happy New Year!
