View Full Version : what fish??
Having lost two fish today which were a bala shark and an angel. I am thinking of getting a new fish but i don't know what to get. I would really love an oscar but will it take up to much space and be too aggressive with the other fish i have which you can find out below in my tanks. So i was thinking maybe an oscar or some pearl gourami's. Also if someone could PLZ reply to my other thread plz. Or what large colourful maybe non aggresive fish would you suggest.
What size tank and do you know your water params?
Its a 125g and all params are good.

The oscar might eat some of your tetras, and maybe the betta when he/she gets big enough to. I think that the bala sharks get to be 12 inches (roughly 30 centimeters) or more, so with that in mind, you might not want to add anything else to your aquarium, unless you're going to have space for it or the balas somewhere else down the road.
what about 1 male or female ram?? i think they are beautiful.

What about flag fish or angelfish or something. You could have a pair of rams.
yes but wouldn't pairs become aggressive??

In a 125g tank, it shouldn't be a problem at all. Plus at the size rams are, the damage they are able to inflict is really neglible. They only guard the area around the nest, they won't terrorize the entire tank like say a pair of Salvinis or Convicts would.
I don't want babies....would 2 females get along?
they should.
you really miss out on alot like that tho. the colors of breeding fish are usually seriously bright.
just keep a predator cat or 2 in the tank, and you won't have any or many babies survive.
won't the male betta, 2 bala sharks, 2 colubian tetras, 4 clown loaches, 1 red tail black shark, 1 angel fish clean them up??
