For me, I have three favorite sizes; 30g, 40 breeder, and 75g. I like their length and depth for aquascaping. This allows me to keep larger bodied fish or have larger plants. What is your favorite and why?

29g... it's the size I have now.

I guess it would have to be a 40 breeder because they are nice and wide. But I will probably change my mind next week,LOL.

Just to pick one...I'd have to go with 40 gallon breeders....long enough to see some schooling tendencies or for a bit more swimming distance than smaller tanks. A bit of front to back depth for aqua-scaping and a somewhat shallow height so you do not need as powerful lights for plants as in a deeper tank. And they can hold a lot of fry for grow out to boot.

Next favorite would be 75/90s for larger cichlids and holding a large variety of community fish.

Really depends on the purpose...i love my 55s and 75 for the community aspect but I love my 10g for the ease of water changes. I can do one of those badboys in about 5 minutes compared to the much longer drain/fill time of the bigger tanks

Well, I've only had a few tanks, but so far my favorite is the 75g. It's a nice footprint for getting some depth without being too deep to work with and can hold quite a variety of small/medium fish or a couple larger fish depending on the sizes. It's a nice stepping stone from the smaller, limited tanks and the massive monster tanks. Most people can find a place to fit a 75g too but might not for a 125g.

I also like my 20g long. It's a small tank, but the length gives it more stocking ability than regular or tall 20g tanks. Plus, it looked really nice with a forest of najas grass and anubias.

My other tanks were/are a 10g for Mom, 2.5g bowfront, 1-1.5g, 44g corner, and a 16g tall (custom?). The only one of these I really hate was the 1-1.5g one because there was so little that I could do with it. I'm not particularly sold on the 2.5g because it's also limited, but it's planted only for now with plans to add either a nerite snail or a couple amano shrimp.

Out of the tanks I have had....10, 15, 30, 35, 55, 65 hex, 110 long, 125. It would have to be my 110 long. It is 6' long 18" X 19" high. It has all of the look of my 125s but I can reach the bottom to rearrange and clean without needing scuba gear and a ladder.

i'd have to say my favourite is the 55 (i have 2 right now, only tanks i have). big enough to keep a variety of fish (community) and it's not too deep to reach into for maintenance and plain ol' mucking in the tank, lol. mind you i do have long arms so tank-water armpit syndrome isn't an issue. this size is also small enough to not take up a ginormous amount of space and when you live in an apartment space is always at a premium!

While I do like the smaller tanks for their ability to be tucked away nicely around the house I am gonna have to say that for me the bigger the better!

That being said I am picking up two 40g breeders this week :D
