These are very cool! I kept two of them years ago and fed them only flake food (before i knew better). I kept them about a year.... recently I had one that was only 1/2 inch. He had ich that I did not see until I got him home (they are spotted) I treated him for ich and he lived about 6 mos. I thik he was weakened by the ich as he never grew much.... I fed him brine shrimp. try getting one that is an inch at least and check him and his tank mates for ich before purchase. They can be really stressed in transport and are not good travellers. Your substrate needs to be close to the size of sand as they love to bury themselves like their saltwater cousins in the bay. Also, be really careful when cleaning the tank. they are really easy to injure as they are hard to see.....

There is not such thing as a tea cup stingray. These show up often in stores, but they are a FW stingray--species undetermined. Since some FW rays will get 2 foot in diameter, it is very important that you determine the correct species and provide them with enough space to grow.

Otherwise, they are very cool animals. They need lots of meaty foods--raw copped shrimp, chunks of raw fish, and earthworms are all appropiate foods. They will take small fish, as well, so be careful what you mix them with. Also, many aggressive fish will go after them--arrowanas are often cited for tearing disks and targetting ray eyes.

Just noticed--are these flounders (the eyes are together on one side of the fish), or rays? Different animals, different care needs. Many flounders are sold as FW, but actually need brackish or marine conditions as an adult.
