I was thinking of getting some hair pins (not bobby pins) to pin my chainsword to the substrate inthe front of my tank. What does everyone else use to secure the runners to the gravel bed?

I know the roots will hold it in the substrate, How do you hold it in place until that happens. My chains of chainsword are floating.

Flourite is my substrate.

I had the same problem with marsilea, and i just kept re-burying the roots with substrate. There would always be some floating, but eventually most took hold.

As long as nothing is digging them up a hairpin will work fine. You could also use a bobby pin, it will just rust away and provide iron to the roots at the same time.

I think the cories in their scooting around rooting in the substrate may lift some of it. I'll try just the substrate and keep replacing it. But I'll probably pick up some hair pins just incase
