So, for those who watch survivor, the next episode is in the Amazon... I wonder if they will be eating any of our wild Tank fish?

I think Pacu are a favorite food choice of the native peoples of the Amazon...as are redtail cats and Oscars.

Yea, that picture of the guy eating the discus in TFH is great! It looks like he caught it and just went straight to eating it. No cooking or anything. It must have been 6 or 7 inches. MMMM!:p

I saw a pic in an old National Geographic of some natives with a ton of skewers hanging over a fire. I could see piranha, pacu, some unidentified catfish, characins and cichlids (the crispy golden brown skin made them difficult to identify), and even a few snow king plecos heh. Looked tasty...

peacock bass seem to be a favorite as well... at least I see them in pictures of markets down there all the time.

I was watching a Docu on the discovery channel on Parinha. Very interesting. In a large breeding tank of Parinhas, they kept a colony of neo. brichardis. I knew Brichardis can be aggressive, but they can hold there own againts the parinha. Intersting. Also, some people in the amazon uses the Peacock bass to keep the parinha in check. When the parinha breed, they will devour the eggs and juviniles. But if the juviniles survive, the the BASS is history....
