Thank you very much.Oh I see - they really did dwarf the tankImpressive fellas!
Hmmm... This one was shy at first (I had him in my 36"x18"x16" 40g breeder with my severum and catfish), but still came out to eat. Once I moved my 11" Polypterus bichir lapradei to the same tank, I figured it wasn't worth the risk, so I made him a retreat in the 29g. The Angels weren't too fond of him at first (being a breeding pair), but after the first night in, they figured it wasn't really a threat, and left it alone. Right now he is out in the open swimming around looking for some food on the bottom without either of them even seeming to notice.I kept them in a busy community tank with tetras and kribs where I don't think they got much to eat. I always wondered if maybe they had intestinal parasites because they got skinny and weak, didn't have much appetite. I could never catch them again in order to QT themI would have fed them some deworm flake if I could've caught them. Now Petsmart doesn't sell them any longer, so no chance I'm ever going to find them again in my little town!
I honestly wasn't too sure what I got when I bought it. All I knew was, was I wanted a cichlid for my 55g, it wasn't an african, it had a cute little disposition, and it was labelled "curviceps cichlid"... So I got it. I am not a fan of random buys, and certainly don't condone it, but this one worked out well.Enjoy your fish. I always wondered why curviceps are so underappreciated - they have lots of advantages over blue rams.
Thanks!Awesome!
I saw some of these guys at the lfs but could never remember the name once I got home to look it up.
