So I finally took some new pics of my 55 gallon tank again with a couple new changes to it. I added in a couple large river rocks, and a greek wall type fixture, along with the background I finally sealed to the tank. Slowly planting it, as I'm waiting for my disability to be finalized and release of funds, idiots owe me $700 lol.

Yes I know that Ribbon Plants are household plants that do geat in aquariums, my mom bought them for me on x-mas unknown to me, so I figured what the hey I'll be nice and use them just for her.

As you can see the Amazon Sword in the greek fixture looks bad, but it has gotten healthier since I planted it. I bought it bad shape and have been nursing it back to health.

And to think I only paid $200 for the tank with heater, lights, stand, and canopy.

Anyways enjoy the pics.

Thanks, I'll be getting a Nova Extreme t5 HO 2 bulb system, and I'll be adding in some Corkscrew Val to the back wall, couple Cabomba Plants in the middle, and some Taiwan Moss to the drift wood, river rocks, and main ceramic piece here when I get my disability money.

Looks good so far, and sounds like your on your way to a nice looking tank. Make sure that you put some root tabs at the bases of those swords (and the vals when you get them) to keep them well fed.

And I hate to be a party pooper, but the plants you have planted around you ceramic piece and to the left of your Greek ruins are not true aquatic plants. I'm afraid they will not survive more than a few months submerged in the water. You might want to take them back to the store you got them from.

Good job, though. Keep us posted.

I have about 1" of eco-complete under the sand, and I make sure to plant everything deep enough so that the roots are getting to the eco-complete.

As for the Ribbon plants, like I said I know they're actually regular plants, but my mom got them for me for X-mas without me knowing so I planted them for her, but will be removing them in a couple days.

I'll be setting up a 2 liter bottle DIY co2 later this week for the plants, and I'm waiting on my disability payment so I can get my Nova Extreme t5 HO 2 bulb setup, and invest in some more plants as well.
