Let me break it down, I have a 55 gallon standard, submersible heater set to 80* with the following

Filtration
1 - Whisper 60 power filter (1 side carbon, other side filter floss)
1 - Whisper 40 Power filter (filter floss only)
1 - Jebao 912 4 stage canister filter 265gph ( filter floss, carbon, biomax)

Standard lighting with 2 Power-Glo 18" 15 watt bulbs
(switching to a Nova Extreme t5 HO 2 bulb setup at 108watts)

Substrate
1" Eco-Complete
1.5" of Play Sand from Home Depot

The Ribbon Plants have been since removed from the tank and planted with other House Plants, the large Amazon Sword I bought in bad condition and have slowly nursed it back to health with new growth coming in on it.

And to think I only paid $200 for the Tank, Stand, and Canopy 4 months ago off Craigslist, I since up graded the filtration and got Power-Glo lights.

Here's a few pics of it all

My suggestion would be to not line everything up (look at the side shot to really see it) it makes the depth of the tank look shallow.

I would move most of the plants and rock to one side with the wood and then move the stone and pots to the other with just a couple of plants. Leave an open space in the middle and plant tall plants toward the back and shorter ones up front or mid ground based on there full size potential.

But hey that is me and this is your tank nice setup you got there with the stand and hood.

for only $200!!!! great deal! thats a nice stand and canopy. nice looking tank too.

Well it'll be a slow process as I'm currently waiting for a disability payment from the state of colorado, and pending SSI. I'm waiting on $700 from the state, and I filed an appeal motion with my college for tuition reimbursement for $2,500 I paid for classes that I had to drop because my health has left me unable to work and unable to attend school. Plus I'm selling my desk top PC to my mom for $300 next week.

So with the $300 I'm ordering the Nova Extreme t5 HO double bulb 108 watt setup from drsfostersmith.com Then I plan to use the $700 from the state to purchase more plants heres what I would like for plant and fish stocking.

Plants
2 Cabomba plants towards the back corners
Corkscrew and Jungle Val along the back
Taiwan moss strung to the drift wood, river rocks, and ceramic center piece
Brazilian Micro Sword Grass along the front

Gunna find a nice medium size tree stump from the local river in the spring, soak it in boiling water for 24 hours, then soak it in regular hot water for another 24 hours, then soak it in cold water for another 24 hours, then put it into the tank and plant around it.

Fish stocking
15 Rummynose Tetras
2 German Blue Rams
3 Black Veil Angel Fish
6 Peppered cory catfish
2 SAE's
6 Zebra Nerite snails

Nice tank.
