i added two damsels to my 75 gal tank a week ago, and did my first water tests. my ph 8.2, nitrite .50 ppm ammonia 0.25, and nitrate is 5.0. this looking ok? should i add another fish to speed up the process? there is no live rock or sand in the aruarium. there is some porous and lava rock though. thanx

Try to get the damels out and through in a few pounds of live rock. Let it sit for a couple of weeks and test again. Otherwise just leave the fish in there for a couple more weeks before testing again, then start adding more fish very slowly. I'd recommend strongly though looking into alot of live rock.

I agree with Voodoo, your tank is still cycling and the addition of more fish will either kill them or burn their gills making them nasty if they survive.
Adding LR is a good idea to help things along, but you may want to wait a bit or do some partial water changes to reduce NH3 and NO2 values...that way you done fry any critters on the rock.
